hello there, nice to meet you!

Sofía Osorio here, but please feel free to call me Sofi.

I was born and raised in the small city of Barranquilla, on the Atlantic coast of my beautiful home country Colombia. Home to talented and beautiful women like Shakira and Sofía Vergara (I’ll bet you any amount of money that you won’t ever meet someone from Barranquilla that won’t tell you that unasked-for-fact.)

I must admit that introducing myself is an art I have yet to master. I remember dreading answering the “tell us a little bit about yourself” questions every first day of class. It is a dread I shamefully now carry with me in every single context where I need to talk about myself. I never know where to start, and so I have a different answer every time:

“I’m Sofía and I suck at tennis even though I’ve received lessons for 2 years now.”

“Hi, I am Sofia and I’m passionate about literature.”

“Hey, I am Sofia and I’ve loved video production and editing since I was 12.”

“I am Sofia and true crime and conspiracies are my guilty pleasure.”

“Hello, I am Sofía and my frustrated dream is to be a film director .”

“I love writing too!”

I swear I could continue. Truth is, there is not a “little bit” about myself. There is a whole lot.

I guess that’s what drives me to strategy so much. Curiosity. Craving to discover all that there is to know about the world.

I used to think of this as a flaw, as some kind of reflection of my lack of commitment to things. It scared me to feel like I couldn't hold on to anything because I would eventually give it up for something new that would swallow up 100% of my attention.

Today I see it as a blessing, as one of the most crucial parts of my personality. I love knowing how easy it is for me to find happiness in so many things. I am excited to know how much I am yet to discover and share.
